Model Tagging

Updated: Jul 22

Tags in the Model Editor organize items in the model space and support filtering to easily access only necessary items for whichever feature you need in your workflow. The first tags you'll notice are the default tags.

ree

The following are default tags:

  • Data Collection. These items are essential for collecting data in the field (regardless of downstream workflow or application).

  • Make Ready. These items are specific to performing Make Ready engineering.

  • PCI. These items pertain to post construction inspection workflows only.

  • PLA. These items are only used for workflows involving pole loading analysis.

  • System. These items are fundamental to the system as a whole.

Katapult controls default tags. These default tags cannot be edited or deleted.

In the job model, the sections can be filtered by tag (or filter down to items that don't have tags).

ree

Make selections and/or deselections under the "Filter By Tag" table for the tag(s) you want to filter by. Checking or unchecking the checkbox next to "Filter By Tag" will check or uncheck (respectively) all the tags listed below it. Only tags that exist on items within the open section will display in this list.

Catalogs can also be filtered by tag. Available catalogs can be found by clicking the "Import From Catalog" button.

ree

Next to the search bar is a dropdown with all tags that exist in the catalog. You can filter the entire catalog by these tags (not just the section that is open). When multiple tags are selected, the software uses "OR" logic, meaning it will display items with any of the tags selected.

ree

When catalogs are filtered by tag, you can then import all filtered items and those items only.

You can also create your own custom tags to use and label items.

ree

To create a custom tag, click “Tags” at the top of the Model Editor and click “New Tag.”

ree

Then give it a name and assign a color. Once those are determined, click “Add.” (Note: You won't be able to give your custom tag the same name as a default tag.)

ree

You can continue creating more custom tags if you wish. When choosing a color, a slider is available to use, as well as a hex input and a color eyedropper for choosing a color from your screen. Make sure the tag has the name and color you want, as these cannot be changed later. If the tag is deleted, it will be removed from any items it exists on.

ree

When you are creating or editing an item in the Model Editor, you can add your custom tag(s) in the “Tags” dropdown.

ree

You can also add tags to an entire sub-section underneath the Pole Loading and Make Ready sections (see above screenshot.)

Custom tags are great for labeling items used in unique workflows or for the specific purpose the item was created for.
