The Problem

What a buildout looks like without a connected system

A fiber build under BEAD rarely lives in one place. Routes get drawn in one tool, handed to an engineering firm, and returned as deliverables that don't connect to anything upstream, so changing a route restarts half the process. Different subcontractors collect with different tools and quality standards, which leaves you holding finished deliverables you can't audit or correct before the problems are baked in. Every pole owner runs its own permit process on its own timeline, and without a single view you end up managing a separate workflow for each one.

That fragmentation is what makes the visibility, forecasting, and documentation so hard. Broadband Deployment is a configured workflow environment built inside Katapult Pro's Engineering Design module. One fiber project spawns permits across multiple pole owners, each moving on its own timeline, while construction gets sequenced against those permits as they clear. Pre-design

Plan the route before anyone mobilizes

Design routes natively in Katapult Pro, or bring a KMZ, shapefile, or CSV from an outside engineering firm and enrich it inside the platform. Any map with source data becomes a working route, which means field work starts from a plan instead of a blank map.

Field data captured to your standards

A two-technician field workflow captures poles, midspans, and anchors with standardized photo types at every location, all geo-located and time-stamped. Your pre-designed routes get confirmed in the field, so the data coming back matches the standard you set rather than whatever each vendor happened to use.

Uploaded field data is associated, processed, and validated against the data model and field rules you configured. Broadband Deployment is configured on a designated instance of Katapult Pro, and you own the data model, the field collection standards, and the complete project record. When a contractor holds the subscription, you're a guest in their environment, and your build data leaves with them when the relationship ends.

Defensible As-Builts

Records that hold up when the funding is on the line

BEAD ties your funding to the records you produce, so an as-built can't just be a folder of photos or scribbled notes from the field. Katapult Pro stores your route design, your permit locations and both a pre- and post-construction photo for your complete record. Future work such as maintenance and upgrades can leverage these evolving records over time, while integrating with your construction management and billing systems. TrueNet Communications configured Katapult Pro Mobile Assessments for post-construction documentation on their own.

Built by engineers who run this work every day

We didn't start as a software company. Katapult Pro grew out of our own outside plant engineering work, and we still run it on customer projects every day.

The platform has been in production since 2017.

It became the make ready engineering standard in 2019, and now supports more than 400 subscribing companies across all 50 states and Canada, including five investor-owned utilities running joint use management.

And we know what this work feels like because we still do it.

Project Setup delivers a fully configured environment within 90 days of your subscription start, and our first Deployment Bundle customer was live in 30. The first 90 days are mostly training and configuration, so your team learns to navigate and maintain the platform while it gets built around the way you actually work.
